Richard Beck, Professor of Psychology at Abilene Christian University and author of Unclean, The Slavery of Death and Reviving Old Scratch, will give a free lecture at St. Leo Church on “The Call to Hospitality.”
“Calls to hospitality flounder when a congregation lacks capacities…” Beck says, “A church has to have the capacity to make room if it wants to welcome the God who comes to us, uncomfortably so, as a stranger. Strangers push the tolerances of the community–theologically, socially and relationally. Consequently, those tolerances need to be cultivated and expanded.”
This lecture is free but please RSVP.
